Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at haydenrunkennels@att.net if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • Can I take a tour?

Yes, we love to show our campus. Tours are scheduled by appointment mid-day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This allows us to give you our undivided attention and answer all your questions. Your pet is welcome to attend; however, is not required. Please call the office at 614-876-7974 to schedule a tour.

  • How do I schedule a stay with Hayden Run Animal Lodge?

You want to first confirm you have all required vaccines, including Canine Influenza and Bordetella.(you need to request these from your vet). Once verified, you can then make a reservation on-line by accessing our reservation portal on this website. Look for the BOOK YOUR STAY button or click here.

  • What Vaccines are Required?

DOGS: Canine Influenza, Bordetella, Rabies and DHLPP, flea preventative program (please note the Canine Influenza and Bordetella need to be requested. Please leave ample time to receive the proper boosters for these)

CATS: Rabies, FVRCP, Flea Preventative Program.

  • Feeding

We feed Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin/Stomach or you can bring your pet’s own food to keep them on the same diet. Puppies should always bring their own food. Nervous, Shy and Senior pets should bring their own food. This is one less change for their systems while on vacation.

All food brought from home should be prebagged in separate bags per meal. Any supplements or specialty treats should be added to each meal bag. All meal bags should be labelled with the pet’s first and last name and designated for breakfast or dinner.

If you prefer, our trained care team can pre-bag and label your meals for an additional charge. Medicine should be brought separately with instructions attached and updated in your pet’s profile. We have all food dishes and water bowls, so you do not need to bring these items.

  • Toys and Treats

You are welcome to bring toys and treats. We recommend nylabones or kongs. These items can not be chewed or torn into pieces and swallowed. We discourage rawhides because these can cause stomach upset, as well as, present a choking hazard. All toys should be labelled with the pets first and last name. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

  • Bedding

We provide complimentary Kuranda Cots or Orthomats for our guests to use. Kuranda Cots are the Gold Standard in lodging. In addition, we have plenty of soft blankets and bedding for guests to utilize. We do not charge extra for these; however, please use caution if your pet is a chewer or a digger. They can be chewed and swallowed. In addition to a $100.00 cot replacement charge, your pet could face additional medical expenses associated with ingesting the cot, mats or blankets.

If bringing items from home, keep bedding sizes to 3x3’ to allow for any necessary laundering. Aim for the size of carry on luggage. Do not bring a comforter or your pet’s “good” bed from home. All items need to be labelled in advance with the pets first and last name. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

  • Medications

We can administer oral, eye and ear medications. We can not perform allergy shots, vaccines or insulin shots. If ears need cleaned, please bring appropriate cotton balls or wipes you use at home. Please bring your pets favorite treat to take it’s oral medication . We have refrigeration for cheese, yogurt, hot dogs or any other concoction that your pet would like. Medications should be labelled with instructions. These instructions should be updated in your pet’s profile before checking in. Pill boxes can be used to separate medications and ensure proper administration.

  • How are Charges Calculated?

Charges are per night. You can check in during the morning or evening hours with no impact on the nightly charge. When picking up during the morning hours there is no additional charge. When picking up during the afternoon hours there is a half day charge. Please note, Sundays do not have morning office hours available. The office is closed. All focus is on each guest’s care. Sundays will always have the afternoon hour charge applied.

  • Cancellation Policy

A 5 day cancellation notice is required for cancellations and/or changes to your reservation. Failure to provide a 5 day notice will result in a 5 night lodging charge per pet.

  • Early Pickups

Your bill will reflect your requested, reserved reservation. Early pick ups are allowed with notice. Please note, you will be charged according to the dates you originally reserved.

  • Holidays

The office is closed for pick ups and drop offs during the following holidays: New Year Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th , Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
